Workers Rights
Fighting for Workers Rights
The relationship between employer and employee should be built on honesty, clarity and fairness. But some companies and government institutions, even the limited number where employees have unions, cheat, harm and discriminate against their workers. And some employment policies and contracts leave employees vulnerable to mistreatment, and try to eliminate their rights. Employers underpay employees, force them to work in inappropriate conditions, and retaliate against whistle-blowers. What Advocates for Justice Does Advocates for Justice takes on cases to fight for workers’ safety, enforce minimum wage, overtime and other basic workplace standards, and to protect employees from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. We challenge employers’ attempts to eliminate or unduly limit workers’ access to the courts. Our litigation exposes and stops discrimination, addresses unfair workplace practices, and wins fair compensation for injured, low-wage, women, and minority workers on both an individual and class-wide basis. |
