Marcus Barahal
|
Marcus is a rising 3L at Fordham Law School. At Fordham, he is an incoming Notes & Articles Editor for the Intellectual Property, Media, and Entertainment Law Journal. As a native New Yorker with a background in entertainment, he is very interested in achieving justice for low-income residents of New York City, and in labor law and its intersection with art and artists. He is looking forward to the summer working with Advocates for Justice.

Lana Boiko-Kasyanchuk
|
Lana is a student at St. John's School of Law, actively pursuing her passion for public interest work through her summer engagements as well as her involvement with the Public Interest Center at St. John's. Her interest in public service was sparked during her internship at the Office of Policy and Planning, where she discovered the significance of court innovations and the value of individualized approaches, and attention to the unique facts and circumstances of each case. Lana has demonstrated her commitment to helping others through meaningful volunteer work at the New York Legal Assistance Group's Legal Health unit, where she honed her legal skills and gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by immigrants. With two years of experience at a boutique firm specializing in complex real estate, education, and business representation, Lana recognizes the importance of providing top-notch representation to individuals across various legal matters. Her areas of interest include education, immigration, and real estate law. During her free time, Lana cherishes moments with her family in the great outdoors, finding solace and rejuvenation through camping and hiking adventures.

Martha Dallman
|
Martha is a rising 3rd-year law student at Brooklyn Law School. Originally from Arizona and now living in Brooklyn, where she spends her days working, reading, and exploring the boroughs. Previously, Martha was attending college while working in voting rights and voter mobilization. During law school, she has so far worked in immigration law, disability and civil rights law, Small Claims Court, and Surrogate Court. Martha plans to continue public interest legal work and hopes to focus on human and civil rights law after graduating and passing the Bar Exam next year.

Darcy Diaz
|
Darcy is from Denver, CO and holds both a B.A. from Columbia University in Political Science magna cum laude and an A.A. in Mandarin Chinese from the Defense Language Institute.
Darcy is a rising 3L at Fordham Law School where she is an editor on the Fordham International Law Journal. Prior to her arrival in New York, she served in the U.S. Navy as a cryptologic linguist. After she graduates, she plans to pursue a career in public interest, and hopes to gain experience in landlord-tenant law or public policy. On the weekends, she enjoys visiting her local deli for a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel and gallivanting around New York's art museums. She is currently saving the land of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. |
Leila Eliot

Leila is a rising 3L at CUNY Law. She is excited to be spending the summer interning with Advocates for Justice because of its history representing her community on local legal issues. When she is not at work you can find her walking her dog, reading, or spending time with her family. Leila is looking forward to a summer of learning and growth!

Jenna Marino

Jenna is a rising 2L at Brooklyn Law School. She is pursuing work in the public service sector, specifically Civil Rights, and Constitutional Law. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts and the beach. Jenna is excited for all the great work and learning experiences that this summer will bring.

Kevyn McConlogue
|
Kevyn is a 25 year old, rising 2L at Brooklyn Law School with a strong interest in client-based, litigation work. Upon graduating from Lehigh University with Bachelors in International Relations, Kevyn served in the Peace Corps as a Youth Development Specialist in Morocco until her evacuation in March 2020 due to COVID-19. Jenna is a classically trained vocalist that has been on five international choir tours and competed in several a cappella competitions. In her free time, she likes history, traveling, music, exploring New York City, and spending time with her friends and family.

Max Zorn

Max is a rising 3L at Brooklyn Law School. He is eager to work on a range of pro bono/public interest cases that touch on matters relating to administrative and employment law with Advocates for Justice. This summer he looks forward to expanding his legal network and obtaining diverse perspectives in the field of law.
Personal interests include watching sports, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. This upcoming fall Max will be studying abroad at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany. |
